BABY AIMI..EARLY DAYS..

Just wanted to share some pictures of me in my early years.

17th August 1983. A day old Aimi Izyana.

A few months old..

Proud parents with their brand new baby..

According to Mama the pictures when I was in the green baju kurung was when I just 'got my legs'. Meaning, I just learned to walk. Haha. I was a year++. Late bloomer I am. Still am.

My first birthday!!!
When I was one, my father got a chance to further his studies in Sheffield. So my parents packed our bags and brought me and my brand new brother along. We didn't stay long there, just for about two years. That is why I only have vague memories of living abroad. And having short term memory loss doesn't help. I only remember being in my mother's room with Zaim eating something and another memory of being in the playschool. Such a shame because I would love to relive the moments when I first played in the snow. Since that's impossible I'll just satisfy myself by going through the pictures that Abah took. Maybe I can go for a round of hypnosis to jog my memory... Hmm.. Interesting... So here are some out of the hundreds of pictures while we were there.

Around our house in Sheffield..

Currently this is on my desktop. Taken at the Kew Garden.

Playing in the snow..
One of the perks of being the first born is you get a lot of pictures when you were young. So, Zaim and me have like two albums full of our baby pictures.. I like!!

DBSK says bye!!!

MY FAMILY!!

From the bottom of my heart I truly feel that my family is the most precious gift Allah has given me. There is nobody in this world that will say they have the perfect family but I believe that my family is perfect for me and vice versa. I couldn't have designed a better or a more understanding and supportive family. There's a saying that we can't choose our family so I'm very thankful that Allah deemed me fit for this one. I just love the moments when all seven of us get together and just laugh and enjoy each others' company. Those times really gave me strength when I'm feeling a little blah. A family tree made by Una, our youngest.
My parents are my two most favourite people in the world. I love, respect and admire them so much. Both of them have gone through hardships, made sacrifices for me and my siblings. When we were young, they never once left us wanting. They are the main reason why I find it hard to leave them, so I just stayed in Setiawangsa even though I work in Sungai Buloh. The one hour drive to work is definitely worthed when I see their faces at the end of each day.

My father, Ismail Ngah
He was a kampung boy, but with a lot of hardwork and support from his family (ehem ehem) he is now at the top of his field. He keeps his emotion in check most of the time but once he let them out, just be ready. When he cries, it really breaks your heart. I hope if he ever cries because of me, it's gonna be tears of happiness. Any other kind is not acceptable.

Handsome isn't he?

My mother, Rozaimi Zainuddin

She was the uptown girl brought up by disciplinarian parents. Although she could have pursued her studies she sacrificed her dreams for the sake of her family. Thankfully, she managed to obtain her Masters in Planning Law so that makes me feel less guilty. People almost always remark on how I resemble her. Especially from distant relatives. Most of the time it's more of a comment on how I look like her when she was younger. Well, duh.. she is after all my mom..

Maybe this is whatI'll look like 25 years from now. Not bad...

Aimi Izyana

No need for a brief intro. Just that I'm the eldest of the five. I feel like from the five of us, I'm the least attractive looking, heh.. Sorry, a bit of humility coming through..

Muhamad Zaim

Born not even a year after me. The eldest son. We were quite close in our younger days. Now he runs in a different crowd.. But still, his company is one I'll always enjoy. He will always and forever be my Adik. He got through some rough patches a few years back. I hope he already learnt his lesson and continue to be the best that he can.

Adik! Aja! Aja! Fighting!

Aimi Huda

She's three years younger than me. The middle child of the family. Just finished her degree in Biohealth last month. Congratulations!! Began being close to her when Zaim moved to Kajang. What irks me the most about her is that she always takes my stuff without asking for permission. Grrr... Anyway, anytime spent with her is very memorable and fun. Her one goal in life is to become a doctor. Hope she will achieve that dream, Insya allah.

Da, don't take my stuff la...

Muhammad Zaid

The youngest son. He is about nine years younger than me. When he was a baby, he was sick a lot. After his operation he became the most adorable baby ever!! Nowadays he's just discovering life outside of home. Hanging out with friends a lot. He dances pretty good and have a liking to all types of music. The only things is his pursuit of entertainment is effecting his studies.

Yed, don't play too much and focus on your studies now, you hear?

Aimi Husna

Aah, what can I say about our youngest.. We are eleven years apart but in some ways, our interests are the same. She herself admitted that she is the most annoying sister in the world. I think she's right!! She has questions for everything. I think she asks questions for the sake of asking it coz sometimes the answer is just too obvious. But she has a good heart, which is why she is sometimes bullied by her elder sisters and brothers (sorry!!)..

Na, no more questions, OK?

So this is my loving family, as Husna put it in her picture. Heheh.. I hope that we bring out the best in each other and become stronger come what may.. May Allah's blessings be with us. Ameen.

Last but not least, eye candy anyone?

INTRODUCTION TO DBSK

Since I have a feeling there will be quite a few posts regarding DBSK, I might as well give a short introduction on them. And yeah, I'll also be spazzing about them from time to time, especially since they'll be releasing their fourth album on 23rd September.. Yeay!!

DBSK is the acronym for Dong Bang Shin Ki (동방신기), a South Korean group that has swept across Asia like a mighty storm, befitting the meaning of their name 'Rising Gods of the East'. They are also known as Tohoshinki in Japan, but are commercially known anywhere else in the world as TVXQ (often stylized TVXQ!), an acronym for Tong Vfang Xien Qi (東方神起). They are formed under SM Entertainment in 2003 (officially debuted on 26 December 2003), and later debuted in Japan under Avex Trax in 2005. The group is not only able to perform harmonious ballads but can also give a powerful dance performance which gives them an indefinite range of genres to dabble into. Their versatility is evident from the songs in their album which features various types of music. So far they have released three Korean album (Tri-Angle, Rising Sun and O-Jung.Ban.Hab) and three Japanese album (Heart Mind and Soul, Five in the Black and T). The fourth Korean album is expected to be released on September 2008. DBSK has a very large fanbase, with the official fanclubs (Cassiopeia in Korea and Bigeast in Japan) having combined members of more than a million. And that's not counting the unofficial ones (like me!!!)...
The group consists of five boys, Jung Yunho (the leader of the group and one of my faves), Shim Changmin, Kim Jaejoong, Park Yoochun and Kim Junsu (my other fave).
(Individual pictures are from their press conference in Kuala Lumpur, October 2007. )

Leader Jung Yunho
Stage name: U-know Yunho
Date of birth:February 6, 1986
He tries to keep a level head most of the time but can be quite a dork. He keeps the group organized and takes his role as a leader seriously. One of the best dancers in the group, he's always in the center of any power dances. He injured his back late 2007, which made him unable to participate in any dance performance even though at the time DBSK was having the Asia Tour. The first time I saw him face to face was definitely a memorable exprience. He was simply breathtaking (fangirl mode)...Along with Yoochun he is also in charge of the rapping portion of songs.

Youngest Shim Changmin
Stage name: Max (Choikang) Changmin
Date of birth: February 18, 1988
At first he was a little uncomfortable being the youngest because he's the eldest at home. Now beginning to tap into his inner manliness, especially since Junsu has taken on the cute role of the group. He has a large appetite, famously remarking to eat 8 meals a day. He is also fantastic at being sarcastic (Haha, that rhymes)..He tends to be very quiet, letting all his hyungs have the spotlight but whenever he opens his mouth..He'll say the most memorable things.. Whether funny, serious or just plain sarcastic...
Visual Shock Kim Jaejoong
Stage name: Hero (Youngwoong) Jaejoong
Date of birth: January 26, 1986
Also known as the mother of the group because he is constantly taking care and cooking for them. He is one of the most beautiful man ever. Pity that he covered up his face when I saw him at the airport...Always in the center of group photo because his looks alone are able to hook a fan (I actually was inclined to DBSK because of that freakishly perfect manga looking persona that he had in Rising Sun)... Jae is one of the main vocals of the group, able to project a range of vocals in his performances..

Dandy Park Yoochun
Stage name: Micky Yoocun
Date of birth: June 4, 1986
He is the Engrish speaking member of the group because he lived in US for a few years when he was younger. Actually discovered there and flew back to Korea for training at SM. He is the romatic of the group (actually he has the most romantic voice out of them all) and can melt a girl's heart with just a smile (I sound so cheesy.. but it's true!).. Chunnie is a very talented songwriter, having written and composed some songs for DBSK including Holding Back The Tears, Yeobi, Kiss Shita Mama Sayonara and one of my fave song, Junsu's Rainy Night. Chunnie doesn't really know how to dance so he kinda fumbles his way through for any impromptu performance. He is also a favourite in variety shows. I don't know why but I noticed that he's very open with his feelings. He cries easily.. He has cried once in a program called Ya Shim Man Man where he was talking about his parent's divorce and his little brother..

Dolphin Kim Junsu
Stage name: Xiah Junsu
Date of birth: December 15, 1986
He has the longest training period in SM, almost 8 years. Has the most amazing vocals I've ever heard. So far, he has not disappointed in every performance. He is also called dolphin for his ability to reach very high notes and also is a very good dancer. Originally was to be the elite member of the group but that image was completely disintegrated when he did the angel pose during Chunnie's Mission Impossible. I love it when he opens his eyes real wide or laugh that special "eu kyang kyang" laugh of his..Usually considered as the baby of the group and was famous for his oyaji gags in Japan in 2007. However, he's going for a more charismatic image in 2008 (Lots of luck on that considered everything he does is just so dorky)... Junsu has the ability to be cute one moment and completely charismatic the next.. One thing about Junsu is he always gives his best on stage. He is by far the best performer that I have ever known. One other thing that he is famous for is his duck butt or bubble butt.. His S-line is just wow!! Hee.. I can never resist a man with a cute butt..

The five of them bring this energy that is just truly awesome. The thing about this group is the more I got to know them, through variety shows, UFO replies, etc. the more adorable they seem. They seem so humble at their success and works so hard to please their fans. DBSK is also not afraid to let their fans see them for who they are and I think that's why their fans love them so much. Their spirit and determination to succeed really shines through every time they perform or being interviewed. They are also very competitive, even with each other, as evident in episodes from X-Man, Exploration of the Human Body, Line Up, Happy Together etc.. And you can see that through all that they have been through DBSK is definitely here to stay. The relationships that the five of them have, that kind of brotherhood is so tight that it is impossible to think that they will break up any time soon.

THINGS I DID ON MY 25TH BIRTHDAY

On the stroke of 12am on 16th August 2008, I was already sleeping on the living room couch. It was actually meant to be a half hour nap but I ended up sleeping till 2am. So when I woke up, there were 9 new messages on my phone. Most of it are to wish me Happy Birthday (smiles). Read a chapter from "Second Chance" (by Jane Green) and went to sleep.
I spent the morning basically watching the CD Kak Maya gave me, SECRET, the directorial debut of Jay Chou. As a director he did a great job but he could work more on his acting. Sorry Jay fans!! But I love him though. Haha.. The first part of the movie was kinda draggy but as it nears the end the pace was just nice. And the background score is absolutely amazing. All the piano numbers were WOW with a capital W.

Ama (my best friend) promised to treat me to Chillis at KLCC as a birthday present. She picked me up at about 12pm and surprisingly there were not as many people in KLCC as we thought. I ordered Monterey Chicken and she had fajitas. There was a little reunion going on as Ama used to work there after her SPM and there were a couple of guys who are still around. Plus, because of the "reunion" we got free desserts! Yeay!!

That night Abah, Mama, Una and me went to a relatives' (Jazrin's, Uncle Jimmy's son) wedding reception at the Grand Blue Wave Hotel Shah Alam. We got there at about 7-ish and made our way to the surau. Nenek and Mak Long joined us and together we read Yasin (3 times) because that night also happened to be Nisfu Syaaban. The hall was packed when we got there and we managed to get tables near the pelamin. I spent the whole night texting my thank yous to everybody who SMSed their wishes, which in hindsight is quite rude. Sorry!! The visual presentation was beautiful although it had some problems in the beginning. It turned out the couple got married after 11 years of dating. Wow!! Since we were seated with Mak Yang and Uncle Zul, you can say it was a bit chaotic at our table. But that just made me enjoy the reception more. I don't really like to go to weddings nowadays because there will inevitably be queries of my own wedding, which is probably not gonna happen in some time.. Sad.. Still, I wish the couple infinite happiness and lots of blessings from Allah. Hope their marriage will be forever happy and blissfull. Sadly, no pictures with the happy couple. Gomenne minna-san!!

On a sidenote: DongBangShinKi and the rest of the SM family just finished their first SMTown Live 2008 concert yesterday. I must say the boys look extra yummy, especially Yunho and Junsu.. Hehe..Biased I am.. The shirts look soooo cute. I want all of them!! They are going back to Japan and come straight back to Korea for the release of their fourth album. Can't wait!! Some eye-candy to end this post.

BISMILLAHIRRAHMANIRRAHIM

Assalamualaikum.

Now that the formalities are over and done with...

..First Post!!! Yeay!!

Alhamdulillah. I have been wanting to have my own blog for a while now and a couple of days ago I thought why not I celebrate my 25th birthday with the creation of my blog and voila!! It's kinda like a birthday present for myself.

So this blog is not meant to discuss anything in particular. Just to record my thoughts, feelings, everyday happenings. A diary would've been easier but not so much fun..

May I have fun with this and may this strengthen the ties with those around me. Insya Allah.
