OF FLASHMOBS AND LAUNCHES..

The day started super early. Fendy and me fought early morning traffic and got to Low Yat at 9.30 am for a dry run with the client. Since we have had a few practice sessions before the demo was satisfactoy and we were quickly dismissed. We broke into two groups, some prefer to have their breakfast at the Mamak Place nearby but Izz, Alvin, Caryn, Fendy (later joined by Aishah) and me went to the Bukit Bintang McDonalds. I only had a Milo because I had just finished my bread on the way there.

We had a final practice session in MBf and got ready for the event. We took the monorail and stopped at Jalan Imbi. We were among the first to get to the Tune Store in Plaza Low Yat. After briefed by the client, we picked up our picket boards (Mine reads I LOVE PARK JI SUNG) and went around the ground floor of the plaza. Yup, not only do we have to dance, but the client asked us to stir a hype to get the crowds' interest piqued. So there we were walking around, inside and outside of the place and then we had an idea of doing a freeze mob. We were going around in 4-5 people at a time and one would yell out A E I O U with everyone going still for as long as we can at the last vowel. That really got the people interested. Some even took pictures and videos!! It was definitely fun but kinda embarassing.

The flasmob started proper when the VIPs arrived. We lingered around the area and when the music started, BAMM..!! Beat It and Chocolate all the way from the entrance to the escalator. Everyone seem to enjoy the performance (video) and we reconvened at the Tune Store for last confirmation and nods from the clients.

Then, Zul came and fetched me from Low Yat and I rested a bit at his office. Unfortunately he was a bit busy so I had my first actual meal of the day with Kevin at the Signatures Food Court, the usual Olio with extra spaghetti. We headed to Setia City Mall listening to BodyJam 64 music all the way there. We got there one hour earlier so after solat I went down to get some Chatime for some sugar rush. I need ENERGY..!! Then I changed into my DREAMS shirt and lo and behold MY SAYANG CAME all the way from KL..!! Highlight of my day.. Smiles.. :))

I was uber excited because this was my first honest-to-goodness launch with none other than my bestie Kevin with Faiz shadowing us. The BodyJam 64 launch was awesome..!! We took pictures before we started being all sweaty. We hoped all of them enjoyed the class and had a good workout. We gave away some prizes at the end of the class and took more pictures.

So, that's everything. A day packed with dance from morning till night. I'm a happy girl.

p/s- Happy Birthday to my BodyJam mentor Stephen..!! Stay cute and best of luck in life.

HARLEM SHAKE

I got a call from Amalina approximately 6 days before the actual event. We discussed mostly online and only got together with the typo gang for one practice session. Most of us were also part of flashmob that took place a few days after so on the day we met at MBf for practice. Then we went to have lunch at Signatures KLCC. I had Spaghetti Bolognaise.. Yummeh..

Then Zul and me Went to pick up Kevin in Setia City Mall. We bought some GongCha, some ChaTime and some Krispy Kreme.. Yummeh.. The others went to the awesome BodyJam 64 launch at Avenue K with Uchop and Zarina.. I am very jealous.. Then all of us met up at the Sg Besi toll and headed to the Equatorial Hotel in Bangi.

We were supposed to come earlier for a dry run through but because of the heavy rain we reached there at 6.15pm.. We had some practice while waiting for our room to get ready. Incidentally, that was the first time the whole crew got to hear the whole song.. Very the last in the minute one.. Haih.. After we got our room key, we went up to rest a bit and then came down to the Ballroom for dinner. I also wanted to check out the stage and crowd. The food was super nice. Alvin, Kevin and Caryn even got some good wine. Then we washed up and got ready by 10.

Our performance was at the very end of the night supposedly as a closing performance. And just our luck, the DJ played the wrong track, so it was not as practiced. We were joined by a few schoolgirls who performed earlier that night. The performance was a bit blegh because we were caught off guard with the song change but the gang sem to not mind and kept on dancing. (video)FOUR THUMBS UP to you guys..!!

In the end, all of us had fun. Even though I was a bit disappointed because the show could have been better I am very thankful to my friends for pulling through and showing their commitment to the show at such a short notice. Luv all of you guys. Mmuacks..!! All in all, another great night by the Typo Gang.

p/s-I was also disappointed that I didn't get to meet Hannan..!! Haha..

SOFY FLASH MOB & HELL-O-WIN ZUMBA

2nd of November 2012 was definitely a day (and night) to remember. The day started off ordinarily enough. I went to work (but I was a bit late thanks to someone who took his own sweet time in the Smart Tag lane).. Had a meeting.. Ate nasi lemak kerang for breakfast.. Did some protein analysis..

But by 2pm I was in Wendy's at Giant Kota Damansara with most of the flashmobbers a.k.a. the crew. Some of us grabbed some lunch but I only managed to eat a few bites before we were asked to  standby. Therefore it was with a heavy heart that I packed my chilli fries and Oreo smoothie and trudged up to the venue. And guess what, I wasn't even the one who finished off everything in the end. Sob..!!

Since almost all of us were in pink, it was quite conspicuous that we were just sitting at the side waiting for the music. So we opted to wait a little ways off the square near the toilet where our VIP was also hiding: LISA SURIHANI..!! There was some last minute practicing and of course photo ops..

When the alotted time drew nearer we came out in trickles. Kevin and I ended up right smack in the middle of the crowd because I thought it would be easier to start the dance there rather than running in when the flash mob starts. Suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder and one of the SOFY staff asked whether I could stand-in for a winner who couldn't be there on time due to traffic. Lo and behold, suddenly I found myself on the little stage receiving a big fat mock cheque of RM8000 from Lisa Surihani for the Grand Prize winner..!! And all my friends' jaw dropped.. It was soo funny, I smiled/laughed the whole way..

Anyway, then the music started and all of us strutted our stuff. Nik couldn't make it so I paired up with Alvin. Lisa joined in the mob too. She was quite shocked to see me. LOL. She looked so cute trying to dance. Hehe. After the performance we re-grouped at Wendy's for some icecream and video viewing courtesy of Shafiq. Lisa also came by to thank us and graciously took pictures with each of us.

We hung out there for a while, then I brought Kevin to Damansara Uptown for his class. We made it just in time to get ready for the Hell-O-Win 90 mins Zumba challenge at the Curve with Terrence, Gladys and Uchop. Thanks Aishah for the makeup..!! And we even got certificates afterwards. Yeay..!!

We had a loongg day but our tummies are grumbling. So we stopped by Murni at SS2 for some late night treats (Mee Raja for me..!!) before heading home. Time for rest now.

SECRET SANTA

After the semi-successful November babies birthday celebration in Times Square, (I say semi-successful because we were kinda complaining towards the end.. Heh..) Kevin was in full organizer mode. So he proposed another get-together for the gang... SECRET SANTA!!

After much planning and changing dates and venue, he finally decided presents were to be exchanged on the 20th December at the KFC near Menara MBf at 9.30pm. Names of Santees were drawn four days before and I have to thank Ecah for drawing out my Santee because I was out of town for the ceremony. I was however a little pressed for time and only barely managed to get the present(s).. Hee~ Just one hour of shopping yo.. So apologies to my Santee if my gift(s) were short of your expectations.

Kevin had a last minute shadow at Axis, so we started the party without him. We pooled all the presents on two tables and then ordered food. Most of us just finished Zumba with (none other than) Uchop and were absolutely ravenous. I only got a tiny cute little chicken wing, corn on the cob, Twister and Oreo Krusher.. Suddenly that sounded like a lot, LOL.. And Sherli even brought candies for everyone.. Nice~

After Kevin came, there was a bit of photo session going on and not long after gift exchanging time..!! One by one names were called and each time everyone wanted who their Santa was. And surprise surprise yours truly got TWO presents. Haha.. My friends joked that the other was from a Secret(?) Admirer. As it were I would once again like to thank whoever it was that gave me the gifts. They are lovely.

It was a bit late by then and we were tired out from the workout and the fun. I was among the last to leave as I had another business about an unexpected, awesome and most probably life changing trip. Stay tuned for more..

NOVEMBER BABIES

Just got back from my fourth surprise birthday party this month. Haha. It just so happened that there were a lot November babies among us and we got addicted to throwing suprise birthday parties for some of them at the gym.

First up is dearest Ecah. Her birthday surprise clashed with a dinner I had at a nearby hotel, but I braved the drizzling rain and were there to sing "Happy Birthday" with the rest of the gang at Menara MBf. We smeared some cake on her and presented her with a birthday card. Then, they trooped into the studio for BodyJam and I took my leave for dinner. However, I did manage to catch the end of the celebration back at Avenue K, where the girls thoughtfully kept some cake for me. Thanks...

We had a surprise celebration for Uchop after his Drums Alive class in Mont Kiara. Tila and I rushed out as soon as the class finished and then we turned off the lights in the studio and came bearing cupcakes with candles lit. This was a smaller celebration and we brought the cupcakes out to the lounge for some munchies and keropok.

A few days after, Nik organized another celebration for Uchop in Avenue K. There were more people this time and we had a to-die-for cute cake and cupcakes made by our own Shireen. Nik brought out the cake after Uchop's cardio Dance class, which meant BodyJam that day started a bit late. And also that the cakes had to wait until class ends before being shared with everyone.

And then totally last minute, tonight we surprised Sherlin with a birthday cake after BodyJam at Mont Kiara. It was a belated celebration so we didn't manage to prepare a birthday card but I'm sure it's the thought that counts. We munched on the goodies and took pictures. All in all, fun night.

I enjoyed and had fun at each and every celebration. I especially LOVE their reaction when we present them with the cake; singing "Happy Birthday". Priceless I tell you. I certainly hope that made their birthday extra special. Hee~ OK, now gotta burn off all those cakes. Ciao~
